SUPACOLOUR
What is Supacolour?
Supacolour is a full-colour digital heat transfer method that produces bold, vibrant, high-resolution prints. It’s perfect for logos, designs with gradients, and detailed artwork—especially in small to medium quantities.
How long do Supacolour prints last?
Supacolour prints are made to go the distance. They won’t crack, peel, or fade easily and hold up well through repeated wear and washing. When applied correctly and cared for properly, they’ll last the life of the garment.
What fabrics can Supacolour be used on?
Supacolour offers different transfer types to suit different fabrics. Our team will choose the right one based on your garment.
Here’s a breakdown:
- Wearable: Standard t-shirts, polos, hoodies, etc.
- Blocker: For dyed polyester and sublimated garments to prevent colour bleed (dye migration).
- Softshell Blocker: For waterproof, softshell, or technical fabrics.
- Industrial: For heavy-duty workwear or garments exposed to high wear.
- Promo: For flat promotional products like bags.
- Headwear: Specially designed for caps, beanies, and other headwear.
How does Supacolour compare to screen printing?
Supacolour is better for:
- Highly detailed or photographic designs
- Small to mid-size orders
- Designs with gradients or multiple colours
Screen printing is better for:
- Bold, simple designs
- Bulk runs (25+ units)
- Cotton garments
How should I care for Supacolour garments?
• Wash inside out in cold or warm water
• Avoid bleach or harsh detergents
• Line dry if possible (tumble dry on low if needed)
• Do not iron directly on the transfer
How is Supacolour different to DTF?
Both are full-colour heat transfer methods, but:
- Supacolour has a softer feel and better stretch (especially for activewear)
- Supacolour offers different formulations for different garment types (e.g., waterproof jackets)
- DTF is more versatile and faster for simple or mixed orders
- Supacolour is ideal when you want specific placement or consistent results across performance fabrics
Is Supacolour cost-effective?
Yes—especially for small to mid-sized orders that need full-colour detail. There are no extra charges for additional colours. Setup or reset fees may apply for new designs or different placements, but we’ll always confirm costs upfront.
Are there limitations to Supacolour designs?
Supacolour is great for most logo-sized areas (like chest or back prints). For oversized prints or all-over designs, we may recommend:
- Sublimation
- Screen printing
- DTF
This ensures comfort, breathability, and longevity of the print.
What is dye migration, and how can it be avoided?
Dye migration is when dye from the garment (like sublimated sportswear or red polyester) bleeds through the print after heat is applied. This can cause colour distortion.
Supacolour’s Blocker and Softshell Blocker versions include a built-in barrier that prevents this from happening. Our team will help identify if your garment needs this.
What size prints can I use with Supacolour?
Supacolour is best suited for prints up to 300mm wide (e.g., front chest, back logos). For anything larger, contact us first—we’ll recommend the best print method based on your design and garment.
Can I use Supacolour for small or one-off orders?
Yes! Supacolour is ideal for smaller runs (under 25 units) where full-colour detail is required. There’s no minimum order.
How is Supacolour priced?
Pricing is based on:
- Print size
- Number of placements
It’s not affected by the number of colours. If you make changes to the size or layout of your design, a reset fee may apply. Bulk orders reduce per-unit costs significantly.
What is the turnaround time for Supacolour?
Supacolour transfers are sourced from an external supplier, so we need to allow for delivery time. In some cases, we can get transfers overnight—but this isn’t guaranteed.
Once transfers arrive, we apply them in-house. Standard turnaround is ~15 working days from artwork approval. For rush jobs, get in touch early so we can check what’s possible.
